COVID-19 UPDATE

Note to travelers from outside of Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland), 14 days of self isolate is required.

To Our Valued Guest,

As the coronavirus continues to impact the world, it is important for us to show you the steps we are taking to help keep our guests and family safe.

Although, we at Celtic Charm, have always been extremely diligent and proud of the cleaning of our home, we have implemented additional measures in the face of COVID-19 that comply with Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and those recommended by accommodation industry experts to ensure you feel safe and secure when staying with us. We have increased deep cleaning and disinfection of all spaces within the building, including railings, door handles, light switches, etc. We are confident that these extra cleaning steps and precautions make our bed and breakfast a safer place to stay, so that you can enjoy your time in the Sydney area.

AS A GUEST, PLEASE…

Do your part to minimize risks by:

  • social distancing from those not in your household

  • wash your hands and/or use provided hand sanitizer regularly during your stay

  • a face-covering is required while in our common areas

  • if you feel unwell or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, we encourage you to stay home. Cancellation policies will be waived.

GUEST ARRIVAL

Our preference is to personally welcome our guests and we will keep a safe distance of 2m (6 feet) when we greet you. There is plenty of room in our B&B for everyone to socially distance. At this time, we will check you in, complete payment, and discuss the breakfast menu. Your room key will be in your door.

BREAKFAST SERVICE

In keeping with the social distancing measures, our breakfast room can now only hold two tables in order to maintain the 6 feet of distancing. In times when we have a full house, we will stagger the sittings, but this will be discussed at check-in.

The following highlights important features of our breakfast service:

  • We will be wearing masks while serving breakfast to your table.

  • Hand washing is continuous and rigorous in our kitchen.

  • You can rest assured that all plates, glassware, and cutlery will have been washed in our dishwasher, sanitized, and stored safely.

  • The kitchen is cleaned and sanitized before and after every breakfast.

SELF-SERVE COFFEE, TEA AND GUEST FRIDGE

We will continue to maintain our self-serve guest amenities:

  • We have a fridge dedicated to guest use in the guest dining room to store anything that needs to be refrigerated. Light snacks, beverages, etc.

  • We have a self-serve coffee bar for guest use with a Keurig machine, various coffees and teas, cups, sweeteners, and individual creamers.

This area is sanitized many times daily. Sanitizer is provided and should be used before and after preparing drinks.

VACATED ROOM PROTOCOLS

Every time a guest checks out:

  • The entire room is stripped of all linens (sheets, pillowcases, pillow covers, mattress covers, comforters).

  • Beds are remade with clean and sanitized linens after every stay.

  • All hard surfaces in guest rooms are cleaned with a Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) approved cleaning agent, including doorknobs, light switches, drawer knobs, window and patio door handles, in-room air conditioning remotes and TV remote controls.

  • All soft surfaces such as chairs will be steamed.

  • Ensuite Bathrooms:

    • We have always taken great care in cleaning the ensuite bathrooms in each of our guest rooms. During these times, we have added an additional sanitization step with a PHAC-approved cleaning agent.

DAILY GUEST ROOM HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE

Daily housekeeping service has been discontinued at this time. If you are staying with us for more than 2 nights, we will have a conversation about how you would like us to handle any housekeeping you may require. Each ensuite is supplied with a PHAC-approved cleaning agent for self use.

  • Trash Removal & Recycle:

    • Please place the trash can or recycle bin outside of your room to signal you want removal.

  • Fresh Towels During Your Stay:
